Yabu was immediately accepted by Filipino diners such that one month after it opened, they decided to expand the SM Megamall restaurant, taking over the space next door. A few months later, it branched out to the newly opened Robinsons Magnolia mall where it has become a crowd-drawer.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT US
Yes, there's a katsu hype in Yabu and it truly deserves all the hype it is getting. Service was fast, servers were attentive to customers' needs and most importantly, they treat everyone like special guests in the House of Katsu.
From what I’ve gathered, Yabu strives to make your experience in their restaurant as authentic as possible. From the decor and interior down to the food and service, Yabu makes you feel as though you’re really eating in a restaurant in Japan. Even their chefs are trained by Japanese chefs!
From the presentation of the food to its tastes, AHHH. Its so damn good! An authentic Katsu indeed! Plus, not to mention, I really love pineapples! I asked if I can order another set of pineapples but they were too kind to give me another one.
Yabu did not disappoint me. Indeed! Kurobota is no doubt their best seller. The pork was very tender despite its thickness. The meat was very juicy and it was cooked perfectly (imo). I also noticed that it was not too oily considering the fact that it was cooked through deep frying method.
To me, YABU is a delightful Japanese food fest experience. Quality Food. Superb Customer Service. Detailed Oriental Cooking. And yes, I can't get enough of their Japanese dressing! Took me a while to get over it.
